Amherst weekend
Last weekend, I visited Brad in Amherst, a quaint & funky town in the western part of the state. Brad is staying at Amherst College for a 2 week workshop in Genomics. He is loving it!!!! The whole weekend was great - delicious outdoor meals, plenty of walking around, interesting people to watch - but the highlight was definitely our afternoon hike on Saturday. We hiked to the peak of a couple of "mountains", saw some breathtaking sights, returned to our car sweaty and tired, and treated ourselves to a root beer float (Brad) and a strawberry-banana smoothie (me). I'll post some pictures once I upload them on my computer.
A weekend of Hopkoz and Haydkoz
Jim and Carol came to visit! We had so much fun! We ate lots of seafood, drank cocktails, visited local sites, watched Boston's fireworks, got caught in a rainstorm, and chatted all weekend long. I am going to try to snag some of the great pictures that Carol took and post them for all to see...

W I P E D O U T !
That is how I felt on Sunday night. Completely wiped out. I had a long work week...followed by a hard play weekend. After our romantic Friday night, we partied like rock stars on Saturday. We started the night at Eastern Standard, a great restaurant in Kenmore Square. We rented out the front patio and celebrated our friend, Cara, who is getting married next month. We drank martinis and champagne, ate unpronounceable food, and felt wicked fancy. Then, Brad, Tanyika, and I hopped in a cab over to Joshua Tree, a bar/club in our old neighborhood. Our friend, Meredith, is leaving Boston to head to Michigan State University to complete her PhD so we celebrated Meredith for the 2nd half of the night. By 2am, Brad and I were covered in sweat on the dance floor, having the time of our lives.
We paid for it on Sunday. Neither of us drank too much on Saturday, thankfully, but we did stay out WAY later than we're used to staying out, so we struggled to get rolling before noon on Sunday. We vegged out on Sunday night over at Bruce and Christy's pad - watching the Olympic trials with friends.
